2,5-dimethoxy-4-iodophenethylamine. A research chemical that is not scheduled in the United States. A potent phenethylamine, It is commonly used as a recreational drug, with psychedelic effects similar to a combination of MDMA and LSD. An common oral dose is anywhere from 5 to 25 mg, or less than a third of that amount insufflated. 2ci can be ordered over the Internet, although sources are becoming harder to find.

It produces visual hallucinogenic effects, and users report "seeing" music at higher doses. It also produces empathy and positive emotions in a fashion similar to MDMA. Some users report a pleasant inability to stop smiling.

It is a member of the 2C family, other 2C's include 2ce and 2cb. 2cb is currently illegal in the United States, and as such 2ci distribution could be prosecuted under the Federal Analogue Act. However, as of December 2010, no individuals have been prosecuted for 2ci.
