Short-strap

A term of derision for a certain type of rock guitarist (usually a bassist) characterised by their use of a short strap.

They wear their instrument above the waist. You can probably see their belt because they almost certainly have their (black) t-shirt tucked into their (black) jeans.

Their favoured sound is crunchy and bright. Their playing style is technical, proficient and leaves little room for expression.

They may be playing a bass with more than 4 strings, or worse still a Chapman Stick (see wikipedia).

They may also have a pony tail. In fact, they probably do.

There's no fucking way I'm letting that short-strap dickhead in our band

The thin beard along a mans chin.

Short for Douche-strap because only douche bags have them

Velcro strap

Velcro strap. Best used to describe a persons stupidity. A stupidity so great that you question their ability to get up and tie their shoes in a morning. They only logical answer is that this person has Velcro shoes in order to stop them spending their life scratching their heads.

He can't be that stupid, surely?
Seriously mate, Johns definitely a Velcro strap kinda guy.

dinky strap

An off-road strap with no structural integrity. Commonly broken on the first attempt while attempting to recover a stuck vehicle..

Guy in stuck truck - hey can you pull me out, I have a strap.

Cheek Strap Beard

Much like the chin strap beard, the cheek strap is trimmed up to the jaw line. The cheek strap however, covers the cheeks as a normal beard would.

Usually sported by a lad who's confused about how to accomplish a lumberjack style beard.

If Spence would trim that cheek strap beard at the neck line, he wouldn't look like such a muppet.
