NoVa, commonly spelled "nova" or "Nova," is slang for Northern Virginia.
In its
four counties (Fairfax County, Arlington County, Loudon County, and Prince William County), NoVa contains the majority of Virginia's state population and economic ties. In fact, the economy is so efficient and plethoricly wealthy, that all
four counties are in the top ten highest-earning counties in the United States.
Most
people consider Northern Virginians to be snotty,
arrogant, rich, and easily offended. This is not completely true. Rich, mostly yes.
Arrogant and snooty, sometimes. Easily offended, not necessarily.
Northern Virginia (especially Fairfax County) boasts some of the best public schooling systems in the nation. The private schools, though, are also quite good but overpriced (just like the housing).
