Constant, pointless talking that begins to turn into a continuous slur for the listener. Becomes very boring after a few minutes and can even cause drowsiness in severe cases.

To be in-decisive. To wander back and forth across a playing field.

"We might have won that game (an RTS style game) if we hadn't waffled back and forth across the playing field."

-I chose to answer the cries for help and leave my fortified position to help another player, then after defeating that threat, was called again to help the 3rd player (on the other side of the board) with thinned forces. The losing battle wiped me out and eventually we all lost the game. I blamed the loss on "waffling back and forth." If we had each been able to defend our positions, we might have won!
