Like quicksand, its grip is unrelenting and the more one tries to extricate oneself, the more browser tabs one opens to continue down alternate paths. Usually starts out as a momentary tangent to try to dredge up memories of an old technology or company or natural disaster and quickly turns into an all-day waste of time.
