tangping
A Mandarin word, "躺平", literally means "to lie down" , which is widely used on social media and among young people. The word has indifferent connotations.
Tangpingers give up fighting for a better life like they used to. They are in total submission to the status quo and they willingly lower their aims, wishes and even expenditures.
They have no more unrealistic expectations, illusions, pressure or interest in real life. No more ambitions, craving for success, struggle, resistance or fear. They try to be a normal person and chillax.
All they want to do is to lie down, to "tangping" and do nothing. They aren't cooperative and they don't give a F*CK to other people's opinions or blames.
Tangpingers scorn the behaviour of fleecing and milking the Masses by devious capitalists and speculators, which always try to play the young people for sucker.
So no more Pie-in-the-Sky or brainwashing. Either you pay me decent money to get the job done, or I choose to "tangping" and you get nothing.

dude all the definitions of tangina in this website is wrong except for one. what it really means is- the word "tangina" is derived from the full word "putangina" which means "puta (whore/slut)" and "ina (mother)". when the word putangina is directly translated into english, it's "motherfucker". However, though it can be used in the same context in how english speakers use motherfucker, the word "putangina/tangina" is used as a vulgar expression in context similar to "fuck you" in english. For example:

Wu-Tanging
Wu-Tanging, a trick derived from the underground hip-hop/rap group known as the Wu-Tang Clan and their love of smoking marijuana, is a trick performed when smoking marijuana in joint form. The trick can be performed at any time while smoking the joint however is usually performed when the joint is close to the end. Wu-Tanging is when the current holder of the joint holds it between their lips and then swallows the rest of the joint while its burning, roach included. This trick is VERY difficult and takes a high tolerance of marijuana and is not completely safe as the cherry of the joint can burn any part of your mouth or throat as it goes down if you are experiencing cottonmouth. The effect is similar to when one stomachs a bong hit, in that the person will have smokey burps and feel very uneasy until the gas has passed.

Striver
The striver is an interesting phenomenon that is seen across college campuses. In essence, the striver is an over-achiever who comes from a working or middle class family. He may be an immigrant. He may have been a slacker in HS who was "born again" into an academic wunderkind. Or he may just be an over-achiever who is keeping at it.
The striver is willing to sacrifice his social life at the expense of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. The striver is the guy who stays at the library long after you are gone. The striver is the guy who takes 30 credits/semester and considers anything below an A/4.0 failure. The striver doesn't work on campus, he is too busy finding ways to pad his resume instead of working retail or workstudy. The striver lets his grades pay his education by applying to ten scholarships a year.
The striver is a future Soros/Fullbright/Rhodes/Gates/Marshall/etc. fellow. The striver lives to study. For the striver, their fun comes from the rewards they expect to receive in return for their diligence. Be it Law School, B-School, academia, or politics. The striver seeks to find the American Dream through academic success.
