The name for the phenomenon in which if you were to bring a particular item with you somewhere, you won't end up needing it, but should you not bring it, you will need it.

"If I bring my umbrella, it probably won't rain. If I don't, it most certainly will. I guess its just the Talisman Effect at work."

The member of society everybody would put forward to represent them as they are such a well-rounded and nearly perfect individual. Must have prowess at sport, music, chopping up birds and academia.

Talesan 

Noun: A type of internet predator commonly displayed as a mystical fox-like creature. Supposedly its origins come from Team Fortress 2 and are derived from Japanese folklore and possibly the Shinigami.

Also an adjective for stalker.
