An alternative word for seafood. Since "seafood" is better suited as a word for what seas eat (see "dogfood", "catfood" etc.), a better word was called for to describe food that humans eat, which is based on lifeforms that live in the sea. That word came to be splaph.
"Maybe we should make lasagna tonight..."
"No way. I found crabs and scallops on offer at the market today, so I'm going to make us a big round of splaph."
