Scurryfunge

A scurryfunge is a hasty and frantic cleaning spree or tidying up of a room just before unexpected guests arrive. It's the whirlwind of activity that ensues when you realize your home looks like a hurricane hit it, and you need to make it presentable in the shortest time possible.
Usage Example 1: "When the doorbell rang unexpectedly, Sarah had to embark on a mad scurryfunge to hide the laundry mountain and clean up the pizza boxes."

Usage Example 2: "Upon hearing that her in-laws were coming over, Lisa launched into a full-blown scurryfunge, enlisting the entire family in a race against the clock to make the house spotless."
