The Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic (RSFSR) was the largest member state of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). The RSFSR was formed on November 7, 1917, and was one of the four original republics in the USSR. The RSFSR's establishment was later confirmed in the 1924 constitution.

A proposal for the state flag of the RSFSR was created by Mikhail Rodionov.
