retrosip 

When drinking something causes a vivid flashback to something you drank before, whose taste suddenly resumes in your mouth, usually in a negative way (something you got too drunk from, something that caused a bad hangover, etc.).

Tends to be instantaneous and fleeting like any other type of flashback.

Referential to/influenced by the acid flashback term, "retrotrip".

I'm avoiding things that remind me of alabama slammers this week (anything punch-red, anything with 4+ ingredients, etc.) because I don't want to RETROSIP. You know, like RETROTRIP?

When a sick day is taken after being sick, so one can actually enjoy having the day off work.

retrospectacles 

The (usually rose-colored) glasses which one views the past. Viewing through retrospectacles causes one to overlook past problems or disasters and remember only the good aspects. Thus, retrospectacles are often the device which allows one to intentionally repeat the same ill-advised course of action.

Adam: "I know she cheated on me the last 5 times we got together, but we had some really good times too. Maybe this time will be different, I think I'll give her a call"

Bob: "Adam you idiot, put down the phone and take off your retrospectacles"
