Regularly-published reading-matter dat details da less-commonplace issues and events.

Rather than having separate sawdusty-dry magazines/newspapers and perioddicals, why not just mix in a bit of both types of news into one publication, so dat readers can feel moderately interested in said publication's content during da whole process of reading it from cover to cover?

The word "periodical" refers to both the cause of the increase in size and the short duration.
As opposed to "major boobage", the effect is minor and temporary.

Man: Wow! Your breasts have really gotten bigger! Did you get implants?
Woman: No, they are only periodical boobs. They'll be back to normal in a few days.
