A word that nobody really knows what it actually means but is often used by pretentious book and film critics so that they can feelsmug.
Pretentious film critic: "The character of Jeffrey F DuMont held a pessismtic, indeed nihilistic, view of the sexual mores of Englands middle class Edwardian social strata, and upheld the view that the Schrodinger's cat paradox between Maria, the pastor's daughter and Bertie, the sentient lump of coal was essentially intrangible"
People need to stop confusing nihilism with being pessimistic. They are different. You can't be "unhealthily nihilsitic". Expecting the fall of humanity and our lifetime being pointless can be a positive way of life.
If you are just depressed and think life is not worth living, you are not a nihilist. Stop abusing the word.
Trevor said he was unhealthily nihilistic, but he is actuallypessimistic, and not a nihilist.
The late hours in the night (typically 12-4 am) in which one procrastinates sleep by occupying their mind with obsessive hopeless thoughts about the universe, and their pointless, mediocre lives, followed by masterbation, then crying to sleep.
As the most negative definition goes, if a person who has no moral code (except for what actually gets them in trouble legally, and even that may still be done if they can get away with it) they might be considered nihilistic. Also, a nihilistic person's moral code my stop at bros before hos, even if they are female, in which case it is usually a fellow nihilist (male) in which they are backing up. An example of this can be seen in the 1986 film "River's Edge."
If a person finds enjoyment in watching others suffer, it is possible that they could be called nihilistic. Someone who believes in the law of the jungle and their own id above all else could be said to be nihilistic.
NIHILISTIC:
i.e. Many of those on MTV, Comedy Central, E, other cable TV and radio stations...
Most (or at least the most visible) of those on 4-Chan's /B/, Youtube, most other websites, a typical high school...
A stereotypical spoiled and hedonistic frat boy also characterizes this one definition.
Looking out for #1, themselves, and others like them.
And dying in yo' bed many years from now, would ya be willing ta trade all da days from dis here day ta dat fo' one chance, just one chance, ta come back here as young men an' tell our enemies dat dey may take our lives but dey will never take our freedom ... YUB NUB!
The Bar came before the movie. It is an awesome bar where the girls know how to party and make you feel okay about giving up your money, drawers, bras, and dignity.
2. Movie
A story about a Jersey girl following her dreams, aided by working at this bar in New York.
3. Situation/Person/Decision
See other definitions - waking up next to someone so ugly you'd rather chew your arm off than wake them up.
1. Yo, Coyote Ugly is my favorite bar! I got whipped, stripped, drunk, and danced on the bar all before 7 o'clock!
2. Hey did you see Coyote Ugly? It actually has a plot!
A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.
Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
