Common homosexual male usage of "gender bending," Miss Thing can be used both negatively and positively. Miss Thing can be used by gay men to denote someone who (often wihout merit) thinks that they are above every one else, or can be used almost as a homosexual equivalent to "homie"

Miss Thing

A term used to describe a woman who is arrogant, self-absorbed and superficial. To call a woman "miss thing" is to suggest that she has little merit and yet walks around with an undeserved sense of superiority.

"Hey, check out Miss Thing over there in her brand new dress."
"She told me that her husband bought her that dress for $800!"
"Who told you that lie? She's not married, she bought that at a thrift store. I know because I bought that same exact dress two years ago at Ross for $25."

A girl or woman with her own sense of style, a sassy, spunky attitude and confidence to spare.
She is lively bold and full of spirit. She has “presence.”

Courageous, determined and not afraid to speak her mind or stand up for others when they are being abused or bullied.

Used to show you admire someone deeply for their attitude, whether you agree with it or not.

May apply to gay men as well as girls/women.

Then, Miss Thang here, struts over in her 6” Louboutins, looks them “Proud Boys” up & down, says, “Sorry, BOYS, we only serve women & MEN here, guess it’s time for you to go” then laughs out loud as she turns her back on them & raises her glass to the rest of the room.

Miss Thang 

A term used for a woman who thinks she knows everything about everything; a woman that thinks her shit don't stink. Miss Thang thinks she's right, but she ain't always right. Miss Thang is stubborn and fails to see situations from any points of view besides her own. She thinks she's the shit.

Often associated in reference to black women, where the term probably originated, but is very commonly used for women (and even men sometimes) of any race.

Shaniqua was bossing her friends around like she was Miss Thang.

Jessica thinks she's Miss Thang since she's on the cheer squad, but she's not very good at cheer and none of the cheerleaders like her. And she's fat.
