Formication, refers to the hallucinated sensation of insects (methapedes) crawling on or beneath the skin, a symptom frequently associated with methamphetamine use. This tactile hallucination often leads to severe excoriation, compromised hygiene, and secondary superficial skin infections exacerbated by unsanitary living conditions.

The patient presented with a chief complaint of bugs crawling on the skin. However, physical examination revealed no presence of insects, and clinical findings are consistent with methamphetamine intoxication. It is likely a case of a "methapede" infestation.
