The act of explaining the meaning of the word meme to a person who does not understand it. Most people incorrectly believe that a meme is a picture with words added on top of it. This is actually an image macro. While some image macros are also memes, not all memes are image macros. The preceding three sentences are an example of memesplaining.
When a mathematically capable person explains a math problem to a less mathematically capable person, typically in a manner regarded as condescending or patronising. Like mansplaining, except that it actually exists.
Math HL student: "Uh, you can't get the square root out of a negative number. Unless you're using irrationals"
Math studies student: "Stop mathsplaining to me!"
Mensplaining is the attempts by society to explain why men are the way they are that are not correct. The real reason's that men are struggling in the 21st Century is due to lack of father's and positive male role models in their lives which has led to a generation of immature men who lack character and direction. An African proverb says "If we do not initiate our sons they will burn down the village to feel the heat", correctly identifying the real reason men become violent and or depressed. Lack of positive male influences in their lives who can shape their character, show them what it means to be a mature man, and answer their hearts core question "Am I a man?".
Examples of mensplaining:
"Men are pigs because of toxic masculinity",
"Men abuse women because they are morally corrupt"
"Men are violent because they want to dominate others"
pejorative term meaning "to use questionably sourced, highly biased or polarizing reductionist memes based on highly suspect and or unverified data to explain something to a person over the interwebs. Most often used to support wild theory's or assumptions in a condescending, overconfident tone, in an often inaccurate or oversimplified manner while increasing feelings of superiority and feeding the posters damaged ego often at the expense of accuracy or accountability"...
I tried to engage in a civilized debate with that COVID denier and instead of a rational argument all I got was a through memesplaining in return.
Stating accurate, verifiable facts. Especially when these facts are inconvenient to an idiots worldview, or contradict idiotic talking points.
example magsplaining:
I once had a roommate who tried to trick the air conditioner
They also panicked that they had broken it because the “number kept changing randomly” since it changed when they pressed the buttons, changed again moments after, and then gradually changed over time. I had to tell them that the first number is the temperature setting, the second is the current temperature, and the gradual change is the current temperature changing.
When someone suddenly pulls you aside and starts writing math equations and proofs to explain something you had only casually chatted about and really didn't need to know that much about.
I was just here for the free food, but this guy ended up mathsplaining to me for an hour
A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.
Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
An absolutely foolproof way to keep minors from viewing content deemed "too mature" for them to watch.
Billy: "So I was trying to watch some videos for an M rated game, and I ran into an age gate, so I put in my real birthday. SOMEHOW it managed to figure out that I am 12. CURSE YOU AGE GATE!!!"
Bill: "Fucking age gate! *quick scroll* THERE! I was born on January 1, 1904. Fuck you age gate."
