meatatation

Meatatation (noun): The act of meditating about eating delicious, savory meat.

Instructions:*
Close your eyes and imagine sitting in your favorite chair, a plate of smoking hot bacon** sitting close by. You bring it toward your mouth but pause, enjoying the sweet scent of apple-wood bacon** wafting by your nose as you prepare for the wonderful sensation that is about to take place. You take a bite and chew slowly, enjoying the savory deliciousness that is bacon**

Once you have finished your first block of Meatatation, imagine eating a second piece of bacon or enjoying another tender and savory option from the many delicious meats spread out on your imaginary table.

Repeat with your favorite meats for as long as desired, or until the urge to prepare and/or eat said meat in reality becomes overwhelming.

*Modify however you want. Meatatators make tough decisions (but enjoy tender meat).

** Numerous scientific studies strongly suggest that bacon is the most effective stimulus for eliciting the incredible sensations associated with Meatatation. The issue is far from resolved, however, as animal models of meat enjoyment suggest that individual differences in meat preference may modulate the impact of Meatatation on bodily sensations.
I tried meatatation for the first time last night but then I ate a plate full of bacon and steaks so I may need to wait until this afternoon to try again.

Meatatarian

A common misspelling and mispronunciation of meatarian
Joe Schmo: Haha I’m such a meatatarian!
John Doe: You do realize the “t” in “vegetarian” is because of the word “vegetable/vegetative” right?
Joe Schmo: Stop policing me man it ain’t big shit.
John Doe: By the way, where did you even get the extra “a” from? Meat-at-arian sounds like a code for the directions to join a secret society.

Metatation

The unintentional act of being distracted while attempting to meditate due to the realization that you are, are not, or should be meditating. Also refers to excessive self-awareness and self-consciousness pertaining either to one's mind or body, occurring during or interfering with successful meditation practices. Common in persons meditating for the first or second time, or who don't believe in or agree with the premise of meditation. Sometimes accompanied by or triggered by embarrassment about the fact that they are meditating.
Ex 1: Whenever I finally started to relax and lose myself in the meditation exercises, I would think, "Ok, it's working now!" This metatation always caused me to lose my hard-won focus.
Ex 2: A couple times I almost started to fall into the rhythm of the Yoga class, at which point I would ask myself, "What am I even doing at a stupid Yoga class?", the metatation jolting me back into my crowded, disorganized thinking pattern and daily worries.
