They usually have never left The 5 Boroughs but have a strong opinion that nowhere else is better than New York. They usually think that they are the toughest and smartest people in the room 99.9% of the time. Not specific to any particular demographic, as they come in all shapes, sizes, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, ages, and races. It is a portmanteau of the words Monkey and Yankee.
