libesting

Telling a lie is usually considered negative. A lie's usual intent is to defame (libel-written) or to deceive but it is always to give a false impression. Libesting (also spelled lybesting) is the act of lying in order to give a false impression of something being much, much better than it actually is. For instance, if a grandparent takes a child to the zoo and then returns that evening to host a family dinner and states, "I took my grandchild to the zoo today and I swear he was the most well-behaved child at the entire zoo for the entire day!" Well, you have heard of this because a lot of parents and grandparents do it--now you know the actual term for the gross exaggeration often used by a parent or grandparent to give a positive false impression.

It is libesting to give a positive false report about how perfect the weather was on a vacation during which there was inclement weather most of the time.

The Libertines

The Libertines are a British band who love British culture, drugs, alcohol, sex, and rock and roll. Considered by some to be "the only current band that actually acts like a real rock and roll band" due to their infamously scandalous history.

The members are Pete Doherty (notorious adorable crackhead sleazegod) on guitar/vocals, Carl Barat (seedy yet respectable sex idol with the best hair and arse) on guitar/vocals, John Hassall (more quiet member, favored by Adam Green, with famous cheekbones) on bass, and Gary Powell (Sadly sometimes ignored yet absolutely amazing) on drums. The media however, LOVES focusing on the troubles and love-hate relationship of Pete and Carl, thus the other 2 members are hardly seen.

The Libertines' music is reminiscent of The Clash, The Jam, and even some reggae. One album was produced by Mick Jones of The Clash. Their songs are deep, dancy, melodic, and of course, oh so sassy. Go do yourself a favor and listen to these beautiful British lads.

Ostensibly an English band comprised of four members but only two are ever seen: look up Carlos Barat and Pete Doherty. They sail on the Albion towards Arcadia on their quest to save rock n'roll. They used to hustle.

flash listings

On Graigslist listings that are there and gone in a flash. Listings that are on so short a time you usually don't know they were even there. I suspect that some people use software that alerts them when certain types of listings appear and the rest of use never see the listing. Craigslist seems to be going the way of ebay, professionals are crowding out regular buyers, and sellers.

That listing was posted 2 minutes ago and now it's deleted, another flash listing. I can't park in front of my computer, and the good stuff is always gone by the time I see the listing. I don't spend much time on Craigslist anymore flash listings have taken the fun out of it.
