Joads

any traveler, or group of travelers on the highway, that have piled up their belongings on to the back of their car/pickup/trailer. Sometimes these belongings are covered with a tarp, tied down with rope or bungee cords, to keep them from falling out. "Joad" was the family name of the characters who traveled from the dust bowl to California in the book entitled "The Grapes of Wrath".

"Check out the Joads up ahead on the exit ramp. They seem to be moving a bit slow with that load".

the underground place that houses those ratchet baby twamps in the most majestic building of william & mary's old campus. known for having the classiest lounge in all of jefferson, jbase is the place to be for all of the parties of the building...mostly study ones, but occasionally even cooler ones that involve freshman boys gathering around jbase's tv and cheering rather loudly for various sporting events. the best part of jbase is that you do not have to put any effort into opening doors. just hit all of the buttons and you're set.

A 50s-styled slang word meaning "Cool." The cat's pajama's, the bee's nee's, and other corny sayings of the like are all synonymous to the "Jads." It's a simpler and more fun way of calling something cool.

Example 1: Boy: Well, Sally Jo, i'm just gonna' go ahead and say it! Well, I think you're the jads and i'd like to take you to the sock-hop!

Example 2: Girl: Wow, Kathy, those tube socks are the jads!
