It was announced by CEO Steve Jobs in January 2007 and publicly released 5 months after its announcement. It had a 90nm Samsung chip and a 3.5in touchscreen. It supports from iOS 1 to iOS 3 . It weighs 135g, and while in the market, a total of 6.12M units were sold. With this iPhone, Steve Jobs prank-called a Starbucks cafe just to show how this smartphone can make calls.
