horizontigo

The sensation of motion experienced when stopped in your vehicle and not really paying attention (such as when looking at your phone while stopped at a red light) and out of the corner of your eye you see the car next to you pull forward or backward, giving you the false impression that your car is rolling. This is often triggers a brief feeling of panic and reflexive brake action until you realize what is actually going on.
Play on words from vertigo.
"OMG I thought the car was rolling forward, but it was just the car next to us backing out of their parking space. I hate that feeling of horizontigo."

horizontigo

Horizontigo is the uncommon adjective for 'horizontal vertigo.'

If vertigo is associated with spinning or forward/backward swaying (particularly when looking down from a great height) then horizontigo can be differentiated for side-to-side swaying and a sense that objects (i.e. cars) are moving but remaining at eye level.

Horizontigo may make you move in such a way that makes you feel like a drunkard.

Dr Google isn't the best at fixing this, nor am I (the author) but what I do recommend is that you try to avoid heartburn while feeling this. Gaviscon or the unfortunate 1/2tsp bicarb soda + a cup of water combination may help. Don't push yourself when you feel this and most importantly, DO NOT DRIVE! Horizontigo comes in bouts.
I'm so sure that I'm not ill, but today I went for a walk and kept getting horizontigo. I know I'm not iron deficient, what the helly is going on?
