A term often used by evil villains in cartoons when the super hero would ruin a plan of theirs by destroying a certain machine or revealing to the public the evil master minds' idea.

(Super Fred just blew up Evil Dr. Tims' death ray before Evil Dr. Tim could destroy Peace Town) Evil Dr. Tim screams "Curses, foiled again!"

Foiled takes the dual meaning of "To prevent from being successful", and the mathematical mnemonic FOIL, which stands for "First, Outer, Inner, Last"; this device is used to multiply two binomials.

"Our plot to throw off the competing trivia teams by changing Wikipedia entries was foiled like binomials when our network was banned by the zealous encyclopedia editors."

Foiled 

A adjective describing any situation where one feels as though their circumstance is beyond their control. It is spoken in an exclamatory fashion in order to exert power over any said event. Through it's use a humourous response is evoked from themselves as well as those around them.

When stubbing one's toe on the way to the bathroom, it is essential to scream: "Foiled!"

It can also be used as a verb.
(i.e when watching a friend fall down the stairs, "You have been foiled!")

Foiled can also be used as ownership to one's actions.

(i.e when discovering you have ran over your neighbour's cat: "Foiled! By my inability to navigate my car!")

when a lady's or gentleman's underpant region become increasingly bothered, horny, moist, or brought to the boil a situation comes up which negates or foils the sensation.

A hard on boil that becomes foiled.
