fancrop

The act of cropping everyone out of a photo except a favorite musician, actor or other celebrity. Usually done by obsessed fans quickly without any advanced edits, leaving photo off-center and with hair, hands and other body parts of cropped people near the photo's edge.

I just posted my meet and greet photo with Sam Woolf; sure hope no one fancrops me out of it!

Fancop

Outsiders who join a fandom/hobby with the sole purpose of policing the behavior of fans in said fandom/hobby and not because they enjoy the hobby themselves. They can commonly be seen trying to shame people for engaging in things that are normal for the fandom and aren't even offensive and harmful, in order to make them "normal" according to their standards. They often engage in brigading to bully people to be more "normal" according to their standards. They like to ragebait fans on purpose and play the victim when the fans get angry or call the fancops out for their behavior. They also like to attack the pre-existing fans by belittling them for their hobby. They also always appeal to triviality.

Fan: wtf happened to anit bro cant even have a waifu anymore
Fancop: “Waifu” talks in 2025. We can watch anime without all dat extra weebo shit😭.
Also Fancop: Said weebos found this tweet and calling me slurs very on brand for the social rejects
