Any of a group of green pigments that are found in the chloroplasts of plants and in other photosynthetic organisms such as cyanobacteria, especially:
A waxy blue-black microcrystalline green-plant pigment, C55H72MgN4O5, with a characteristic blue-green alcohol solution. Also called chlorophyll a.
A similar green-plant pigment, C55H70MgN4O6, having a brilliant green alcohol solution. Also called chlorophyll b.

chlorophyll

a tetrapyrrole similar to heme but with a reduced ring and a long phytol chain esterified on to a carboxylic acid side chain. Falls into the class of organic chemicals called polyenes, which have alternating networks of single and double bonds.

S: The phrase "muscular system" sounds like it should be "muscuatory system."

Teacher: And now, to learn about chlorophylosyphillisarus. You wont ever use it in life, and it probably makes no sense!
A: Why do you even bother teaching it?
Teacher: You need to know in case you become a science teacher, like me!
