Bubugao means a poor quality fake product and usually refers to branded clothing.
Mis-spelt brand names are often a comical give-away to spotting a 'bubugao' product.
e.g. Kalvin Cleiin or Dulce & Gobbana
The word Bubugao derives from the notorious
Chinese market which is well known for it's production of fake branded goods.
Legend has it,
the market was burnt
to the ground but rose like a pheonix from the flames, to continue trading in counterfeit once more.
