Dalam ajaran agama Hindu, Baruna atau Waruna (Devanagari: वरुण; Latin: Varuna) adalah manifestasi Brahman yang bergelar sebagai dewa air, penguasa lautan dan samudra. Kata Baruna (Varuna) berasal dari kata var (bahasa Sanskerta) yang berarti membentang, atau menutup.

Baruna dalam bahasa Sansekerta, artinya Penguasa lautan.
Baruna dalam bahasa Jawa, artinya Samudra.
Jika nama Baruna, maka orang ini emosional. Ia adalah orang yang berani namun ramah.
Ia senang menerima hadiah sebagai ekspresi dari orang yang dicintainya. Ia cenderung manja dan cenderung memanjakan pasangan.
