Benefiction 

A lie that you tell to someone for thier own good. One example of this would be that you wouldn't tell a small child that does not yet understand the concept of death that her mother just died and is never coming back. You would tell her that her mother is away on an extended vacation and won't be back for some time.

You told your girlfriend I was a straight A student? That's complete benefiction!
