Asterisky

A blog run by a pretty awesome group of college students from around the United States who want to deliver a wide range of content to the internet from a young perspective.

Sam: "Hey did you read Asterisky today? There was a really awesome article about accounts to follow on Twitter."

Doug: "No way, man! The other day I was on Asterisky and there was a super-informative article about gas prices!"

Sam: "Sweet, yeah, I saw that. I'm thinking maybe I should apply to join the staff of Asterisky -- what do you think?"

Doug: "Go for it! I hear they have a "Join" tab on their site!"

Sam: "Cool, I will do that."

asterisk action

An action that takes place on a forum or message board to indicate, normally in third person, that the character being controlled by the poster has done an action. These actions are placed in a set of asterisks. If in response to someone's post, that normally means that they are the direct object of that action.

Not to be confused with asterisk expression. Asterisk expressions run along the lines of: *sigh* *cough* or *sneeze* If you were to add an "s" to any of those, it would be an action.

asterisk

Symbol used online for 3 things usually.

1. Bolding or emphasizing a word where font types are unavailable.
2. A way of setting off a word that gives what you're writing a "tone" without actually leading the reader to believe that you're saying the word.
3. Making a correction to a previous mistake.

In order of the definitions of asterisk:

1. I *really* want to come over and rotate your tires.
2. *grin* If you gt what I mean.
3. *get (or get*)

Punching the Asterisk

To rail on and dick down the old booty hole. To work his or her brown asterisk like a boss and rearrange that lower intestine.

She bent over to pick up the kids mess and the next think you know I’m punching the asterisk.

My Grindr hookup up wasn’t very clean but I still ended up punching the asterisk.

you know that weird black star symbol on your keyboard? or is it a flower? who cares. anyways, asterisks are usually used in bad words to cancel out the vowels such as “f*ck” or “sh*t”

so instead of using a bad word, why not just call someone an asterisk? they will most likely not know what you are talking about, but you will since you’re reading this post right now. when someone pisses you off, call them an asterisk. or text them one. * haha see what i did there

Asterisk

A star shaped symbol (*) used to correct or clarify a spelling mistake when said mistake cannot be edited. Typically you'll see these types of corrections in chat rooms, text messages, or fast comment chains. These corrections can be applied by the original commenter or by another person.
