1. The sheer overload of readily available "apps" that are now flooding the iPhone and iPod Touch markets.

2. The cleverly titled Penny Arcade comic strip for February 5th, 2010.

Guy: Dude, how many apps do you have on your iPhone? Do you even need that many?

Guy 2: I don't know. I don't even remember downloading most of these.

Guy: Everybody's going nuts. It's the freaking appocalypse.

appocalypse 

When an app you have come to depend on stops working such that you can't get it to work again for the life of you. An appocalypse can be so brutal that it may result in your spending great sums of money on a new device that can run the (most likely free) app you have gotten so addicted to.

A: "Oh no! Candy Crush is no longer working on my iPod! Now what am I supposed to do with my life???"

B: "Maybe it's not too late to stop this appocalypse in its tracks! Try updating the OS and then reinstalling the app!"

**Yapocalypse** (noun): A situation where a person is talking nonstop, as if their world is about to end, often characterized by a sense of desperation or urgency.

Example: "His rant about the Wi-Fi being down turned into a full-blown Yapocalypse—nobody could get a word in."
