A small town/village in central Illinois that:
-consists of mostly people with German heritage
-has one stop light
-has a public grade school that is sponsored by the town church
-has a better school and sport system than bordering Effingham
-"T-town" is almost considered an official town name
-School team name is "Wooden Shoes"
-I lived in for 5 years
-sucks if you're any religion besides Catholicism
-badly needs a football team
-is cliched as a place where incest runs rampant

Trayopolis is the combination of the words Tray and Polis. A tray is a flat, shallow container with a raised rim. Polis, originating from the Greek city of Pólis is usually referred to as a “city.” Put them together to make Trayopolis! A city of trays.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
