Starlinkgrad

A sprawling, de facto digital city formed by the sheer density of Starlink users in a given area — typically a remote region, rural community, or off-grid settlement where satellite internet has become the social and economic backbone of daily life. Like Stalingrad, it is vast, fiercely defended, and nearly impossible to dislodge once established.
My uncle's farm is in the middle of nowhere Montana, but between him, his neighbors, and the local hunting lodge, they've basically built a Starlinkgrad out there. They're running Discord servers, streaming 4K, and running a podcast. Elon owns that valley now.

Stalingrad

1. Arguably the largest, bloodiest, and most desperate battle of World War II. Occured in 1942-1943 when A Nazi German Army Group South, initially 500,000 men strong, had pushed south of Moscow into the Caucasus, fighting their way to the city of Stalingrad (former Tsaritsyn and modern-day Volgograd), where they were intercepted by the re-organized Soviet armies, about 1,000,000 men (and women) strong.

Both sides failed to claim a decisive victory; the German forces occupied 90% of the city at their peak, but never managed to completely eliminate resistance, while the Soviet armies kept sending reinforcements. Both sides indiscriminately air-bombed and howitzer-shelled the city; in fact, despite the freezing temperature of -30 centigrade, air within the city was hot from the constant gunpowder explosions. Eventually, the fighting degenerated into a bloody meatgrinding house-to-house warfare, dubbed by the Germans as rat-war.

The Soviet reserves eventually broke through the outer defences, and encircled the city, trapping the Germans in a pocket. The German commander, von Paulus, repeately argued before Hitler that a breakthrough retreat was vital to the German survival, but the madman Hitler prohibited retreat, which eventually caused the entire German army group to collapse.

At over a million casualties from each side, the battle of Stalingrad was perhaps the bloodiest battle of the war. It was especially devastating to the Germans, however, as they lost their best equipment, and unlike the Soviets, did not have the reserve manpower to replace the terrible losses. The battle of Stalingrad is considered the most important turning point on the Eastern front, and quite possibly the single most important battle of the war.
The movie "Enemy at the Gates", although way over-romanticized and hollywoodised, nevertheless manages to show a small glimpse of what fighting in Stalingrad was like.

Stalingrad

A major setting in the Eastern theater of WWII, where almost-infinite Soviets were sent into battle to fend off the invading nazi forces. An entirely urban setting, it was one of the bloodiest scenarios during WWII.

Maybe this is why the Russians call WWII "The Great Patriotic War".

Stalingrad Maneuver

In a male-female-male threesome, the first male attempts to penetrate the second from behind while the second is distracted with the female. Named after Hitler's attack in WWII.
Man, I only agreed to a threesome because she was so hot. I didn't realize he was going use the Stalingrad Maneuver on me. My ass still hurts.

stalingrad

Devastating battle during the war, sending tons of soviets to reclaim Stalingrad off the beaches against the Germans with the obvious advantage. A bloody and tragic fight with the irony being that you practically died if you advance further or if you retreated.

Battle of Stalingrad

The battle of stalingrad (1942-1943) was violent conflict between the armies of Russia and Germany. The conflict between the two nations was ignited when Germany broke the peace treaty they had with Russia and invaded the Soviet Union. German forces entered the city of stalingrad (named after Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin) after reducing it to ruins after massive bombing raids. The Russians counterattacked and the ensuing conflict became recorded as the single bloodiest battle in human history. Fighting inside the city ruins was extremely feroucious with both sides losing thousands of men each day. The Russians themselves lost 10,000 men in one day after a fierce counterattack. The Russians overwhelmed pockets of German resistance with suicidal banzai like charges and took back parts of their city. Fighting on the city hill known as Mameyev Kurgan was particulary bloody. The hill was bombed so many times that after the war grass would not grow their for years, and even today one can still find bones and pieces of metal embedded in the soil of the hill. The battle ended after the Soviets surrounded the Germans with a successful counter attack known as Operation Blau, causing the surrender of German forces in the area. Casualties for both sides are recorded as a total of 2 million people including civilians. The battle was immortalized for its complete disregard for human life, barbarism and unprecedented loss of human life.

A movie called enemy at the gates is about a young soviet sniper who is caught up in the battle and its harsh realities.
Don't fuck with the Russians. They're nuts! Did you see what they did to the germans during the battle of stalingrad?

trucker's tan

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
I had a trucker's tan after driving for 10 straight hours on a sunny day.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.

Pee Calculus

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
I saw Satantango last night, wonderful film but by the 5th hour I had to start doing pee calculus.
