Starlings 

A Starling is a person who strives for excellence and never gives up, no matter the challenges they face. They serve as an inspiration to their peers through their determination, positivity, and example. A Starling embodies the qualities of a transformational servant leader someone who uplifts others, listens with compassion, and leads through service rather than authority. They are guided by integrity, always seeking to know and do what is right, even when it is difficult. To be a Starling is to pursue growth not only for oneself but also for the community, fostering unity, resilience, and purpose.

As a Starling, Maria encouraged her classmates to keep pushing forward even when the project seemed impossible.

The section is proud to call themselves Starlings, for they believe in striving for excellence and never giving up.

Stalinist 

Someone who upholds the USSR under Stalin's leadership as an appropriate and desirable model for society today. Those who believe in Stalin generally don't identify themselves as Stalinist, they instead call themselves Marxist-Leninist, but they believe Stalin accurately applied the teachings of Marx and Lenin. Modern Stalinist are recognized for their rejection of, what they label as, bourgeoise propaganda, against Stalin, and their constant conflict with other Stalinist over who is truly following his line.

bathroom stalling 

The time spent in a public restroom after you poop, waiting for everybody to clear out so that nobody knows it was you who was pooping. Can be accomplished either by waiting for the bathroom to be completely empty, or by waiting until a new set of people come in who don't know you just pooped.

Woman 1: "Why did it take you so long in the bathroom?"
Woman 2: "I had to poop but these two girls were talkin' it up in the bathroom forever, so I was bathroom stalling for like 5 minutes!"

starlight tour 

The practise of police officers driving a person, usually an Aboriginal man/youth to the outskirts of town during the night, and often during winter, and leaving them there to walk back to town. These individuals are often beaten en route, and many have died as result of this phenomenon.

Neil Stonechild, an Native youth froze to death in 1990, after being taken on a 'starlight tour' by two Saskatoon police officers.
