Stallman Cycle

Basically, the cycle that occurs when RMS makes a prediction that Y will happen if we allow X.
* RMS makes claim that Closed X will cause Y, therefore, the FSF will not use Closed X
* People call RMS a nazi, extremist, atheist, mooslin, commie
* Within 5 years, Y happens due to X
* People weep and wail, asking,"How could we not foresee this!!!?!?!ELEVEN~!1"
* Repeat with new version of X
Linux Noob: RMS just said we shouldn't export the AST for gcc! He's such a nazi when it comes to the GPL!!!
Graybeard: What you're seeing is the start of a Stallman Cycle. He makes a prediction, and he's usually correct.

Richard Stallman

God on Earth. He is the Lord, who shall save humanity from its misogynistic tendencies towards proprietary software. The very atoms of his body are holy, and every time he chews his foot fungus he is actually sampling pure divinity. He shall correct all those who dare to misuse the phrase "GNU / Linux," owing to the fact that Linux is the kernel and GNU is the system of components forming the building blocks of the operating system. He is the shepherd of all flocks and varieties of people, namely those who recognize the superiority of GNU / Linux. Like any good shepherd, he shall never lead his people astray, never compromise his sacred beliefs, and always set a truly aspiring example of what people should aspire to become.
Random person: What are you doing?
GNU/Linux user: I am kneeling before my Lord, Richard Stallman. May the goodwill of free software everlast amidst the endless torrents and tirades of evil proprietary software.

Richard Stallman

Founder of the Free Software Foundation and one of the most popular figures in open-source. A complete nutjob of a person.

-Richard Stallman has called Bill Gates evil for asking users to stop pirating his software (a version of BASIC)

-Richard Stallman has accused the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation of ruining many third-world countries

-Richard Stallman says that proprietary software is outright evil

-Richard Stallman is obsessed with the phrase "GNU Slash Linux" and will correct anyone who calls it just "Linux" to no end. He's also been known to refuse speaking requests to those that don't use "proper" terminology.

-Richard Stallman, in his new GPLv3, won't let any GPL'ed software be used on hardware that implements DRM, hurting relations with hardware vendors.
"Protesting against proprietary software in April 2006, Richard Stallman held a 'Don't buy from ATI, enemy of your freedom' placard at a speech by an ATI representative in the building where Stallman works, resulting in the police being called"

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
