A female name, meaning "lily," or true beauty. It is derived from Σουσάννα (Sousanna), the Greek form of the Hebrew Shoshannah, which is derived from the Persian shoshan, or "lily."

When spelled "Susana," it is Portuguese or Spanish.

"Susana" signifies someone who is pure and good, possibly because Susana is figured in the Bible twice. In the New Testament she is a follower of Jesus.
