solidarity

The business equivalent of "thoughts and prayers". Used by businesses, media, and groups to show support without actually doing anything tangible to help.
"We at company xyzabc declare our undying solidarity with the minority group currently being oppressed."

Black Solidarity Day

A memorial day, created in 1969 by Panamanian-born activist, historian, and playwright, Carlos E. Russell. It is annually observed the day before Election Day in November, the first Monday of the month. Its purpose is for African diasporic people to exercise a 24- hour moratorium from shopping or participating in other commercial activity such as using the transit system. You can only spend money at Black owned businesses. The Pan-African ideal of the observance is to highlight racial inequality and the gap between the wealthiest of one of the most powerful nations in the world and those living in poverty.
"I'm telling everyone in my family not to spend one dime on Black Solidarity Day."

Solidarity bullying

Solidarity bullying occurs when a group of people, usually directed by single highly-amplified individual, falsely labels a person as a troll and the 'community' becomes a pack of flying monkeys who engage in abusive, troll-like behavior on behalf of their master (the supposed victim).
That mommy-blogger sure called out the solidarity bullying today!

solidarity

solidarity. ... Any time you express support of a group or the people in it, you're showing solidarity with them. The word is used most often to describe a sense of unity with a political group, a group of striking workers, or people who have been deprived of their rights in some way.
Yet there is a solidarity between the chosen few and the masses which produce them; each has a duty to the other

solidarity whatever

a phrase(based on the wobbly phrase "solidarity forever")used to point out lack of solidarity or mutual aid
"Well, we drove 100 miles to help the striking office workers by bringing them food and money and now they can't even send a delegate to our meeting"
"Yep. Solidarity whatever."

Solidarity Drab

A frumpy and repressive style of generally female garb influenced by former Soviet block and Middle Eastern countries, coupled with urban thrift store. A play on the word “olive drab.”
The dour appearance of female professional protesters/activists and those who embrace random trendy and ridiculous causes. A variation is “Solidarity Drag”, which pertains to the mimic in dress of those who are present at aforementioned causes only to date a participant.

A Goodwill shopper who isn't into cosplay.

The garb usually consists of: Head scarves, which always say oppression, no matter what. Black drapes. A randomly colorful and ugly accessory, such as fingerless gloves or a shawl, preferably both. Something obnoxiously political. Wool and canvas. More black.

A simile would be: "A depressingly colorful row of townhouses.”

An analogy would be: My girlfriend became an activist, now she looks like she's homeless.

Usage: A handful of activists in solidarity drab made an beleaguered attempt at civil disobedience.
