Softing 

A verb "to soft" , describing an act of prematurely merging a Pull request into a branch. Sometimes used as a direct synonym to merging a Pull requset.

Past tense - "softed"

1. PR has been softed. - The pull request has been merged to the branch
2. let's soft it . - let's merge this pull request into a branch.
3. Softing this PR would block the release on develop. - merging this pull request to develop branch would block the release.

Force-sorting 

Force-sorting is the process of re-naming a file, folder or other computer information in order to control the order in which information is displayed in a device, generally a portable music player or cellular phone.

A common examples is the addition of punctuation or additional numbers or letters to artists names in a software program like iTunes so that they appear early or later in your playlist.

For instance, renaming "Loudon Wainwright III" as "!Loudon" in order to ensure that Loudon Appears at the top of a list of names.

Other examples included adding additional spaces, changing "Elissa Robbins" into "E lissa Robbins," so that your best friend appears at the top of the list of "E"s in your cellular telephones address book.

I went to call Charles and instead of having to scroll down past Caleb, Carl, and Cecilia, I luckily had used force-sorting and as a result, he appeared at the top of the list as C harles.

Verb.
Lying down on a sofa .. Firstly reading, doing a simple task, or watching TV / surfing on net / listening music ..At the end taking a "break" as a popular "siesta" or directly sleeping on the sofa.

(To practice or to do.. is implicit in the meaning, but you are free to include them when you are writting/saying the word)

Other similar meanings:

Rest few minutes lying down on a sofa.

"Unplugging" for all the tasks of the day for few minutes, lying down on a sofa.

Sofing before go out at night to the party.

1- Trying to accomplish something that is a monumental waste of time.
2- Wasting your energy or time on a lost cause.
