Someone who is capable of holding extremely contradicting opinions, views, ideas and values at any given point. Although you wouldn't know which opinions they hold until you observe which circle of friends they are currently occupying.

Mac: May has a serious case of Schrödinger's Friend. I swear, she's a completely different person when hanging out with Mal and Matt!

When you're into someone, but you're not sure if you're just close friends or taking it slow. This is especially common among lesbians in cultures where women are expected to have intimate friendships, and among gay men in cultures where men are expected to have the more intimate friendships.

When a friendship exist in two mutually contradictory states when you are simultaneously a friend or an enemy until you make a crucial decision related to that friendship.

John : Hey, are you still friends with Johnny ?

Daya : Depends on whether he hits on my crush.If he does we will be competing for the same girl and we will be enemies and if he doesn't we will remain as friends.

John : So, what are the both of you now ?
