X's and O's

The REAL definition behind X's and O's is this
The first mention in literature of XXX for kisses at the bottom of a letter was in 1901, according to the Oxford English Dictionary. The X itself is very old.

The custom goes back to the early Christian era, when a cross mark or "X" was the same as a sworn oath. The cross referred to the cross of Calvary and the first letter of the Greek word for Christ, Xristos.

Even as little as a hundred and fifty years ago, not many people could read or write. The "X" at the bottom of a document took the place of a signature. They would kiss the "X" as a crucifix or bible was kissed to emphasize the importance of the mark. It was this practice that lead to the "X" representing a kiss.

O is an American thing and represents the arms wrapping around someone.
the person above me believes that everytime a girl signed a letter O that he was getting a kiss, which is why he'll never get laid. X's and O's

king's x

King's X is a heavy-metal trio from Katy, Texas consisiting of singer/bassist Doug Pinnick, guitarist Ty Tabor, and drummer Jerry Gaskill. This band put out some excellent kick-ass albums such as "Gretchen Goes To Nebrask", "King's X (Their self-titled 4th LP)", and "Dogman". What makes them spectacular is the muscular, soulful, voice of Doug Pinnick (who sounds like a cross between Bobby Womack and Sly Stone), the chunky guitar lines of Ty Tabor (who's like Steve Lukather, Ernie Isley, and David Gilmour rolled into one), and the John Bonham-style drumming of Jerry Gaskill.

Because some of the songs of their earlier albums reflected spirituality, they were oftern mistaken for being a Christian band (which they were not). However as time went on, the religious tag wore off and they are now seen as a creative progressive hard-rock act now.
Wendy:Hey, what's that great song your playing on the jukebox, man??

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
