phone in

When a person's heart and concentration are not really in the present moment or activity. They are detached and distant.
As Jane kept glancing at the clock on restaurant's wall and looking at the front door, Seth wondered what was causing her to phone in to their date.

Phone in left Hand

You see something so attractive you must move your phone to your left hand so you can use your mand hand to masturbate.

Often used as a funny joke when someone does something cringeworthy or is being despised by others, for example in a comments section of a video.
Ugh my mom keeps posting embarrassing stuff to the Internet..

Friend: Phone in left hand moment.

Left my phone in a cab

A catch-all excuse for work as to why you're not checking email, phone calls, or attending meetings while you're traveling or out of work (typically during your vacation). Often implies that you're spending your time having romantic encounters and otherwise spending your time doing extracurriculars, while avoiding work entirely.
I'm so sorry I couldn't check my email last week. I left my phone in a cab in Barcelona.

Go shove an i-phone in your burka

This phrase is commonly used in response to some one who suspiciously claims claims they have done it all and seen before you. When in reality they probably haven't.
You-"Today I saw the most amazing thing in my life! it was this cage fight between a rabbit against this massive raptor!"

Group-"OOOOOOOOHHH AAAAAHHH"

Some person-"Oh I have seen that a thousand times before!"

You- "Go shove an i-phone in your burka"

Jeremy Vine phone-in

Take a complex, nuanced socio-economic problem that’s baffled experts for decades, then hand it to Barry, who'll bellow down the phone about how it’s all caused by "the boats", the unemployed and "Starma", backed up by a few second hand anecdotes and something he read in The Sun.
Did you catch that Jeremy Vine phone-in? Barry reckons "..he tells it like it is"

Perform an act in a perfunctory, uncommitted fashion, as if it didn't matter.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
