Palento

A conversation that has been going on for too long. A palento is typically used to describe a group call where no one has anything to say, so they just say random words that make no sense.
Person 1: Jinkatwinkalabon.
Person 2: I'm gonna leave now, this call has become a palento.

Palentine's Day

February 13th. If you are single and/or sick of the commercialization of Valentine's Day, you spend this day hanging out with your best friends, eating pizza, watching movies, and playing video games.

Paleontology

The study of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, digging up dinosaur remains. Digging up a dinosaur skeleton or a fossil as a job.
My uncle digs up dinosaurs and does other paleontology things like finding preserved insects, he's a Paleontologist.

polentone

A derogatory term referring to Northern Italians. The opposing term is terrone referring to Southern Italians. It is disputed whether or whether not Northern Italy includes the central region of Italy (between Bologna and Rome. The word literally translates to 'Big Polenta' with polenta being a traditional dish of Northern Italy.

If I wanted to be racist, I would refer to Paolo as a 'polentone as he was born in Bergamo, a city in Northern Italy.
