observation period

The period of time when you’re casually fucking a guy you used to date, and you’re assessing whether or not he has the emotional capacity to potentially be in a relationship with again, and if you even want to try to be anything other than friends who have great sex rock out and celebrate life a couple times a month. Also, it’s so much fucking fun and you don’t want that to stop or change so it’s an excellent way to maximize the fun, to stretch out the observation period. This amount of time is unspecified. Most likely lasts as long as it takes for one of the parties involved to freak out.
Michael, I didn’t say I wanted you to be my boyfriend?! This is still the observation period, I’m observing you, and you are observing me too, really.

Observational Humor

A skit on the Tom Green Show.

Tom Green observes people on the streets, and yells at them from up close with a megaphone, pointing out what they are doing.

This often startles and/or frightens people.
Tom Green's observational humor:
"You are walking down the street!"
"You are drinking juice!"
"You are wearing a yellow hat!"

trucker's tan

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.
