It's new, so it must be better. Disregarding the old as being unimportant and irrelevant, and not as good. Even if the foundation of the new is based off of, imitating, or standing on the shoulders of the old.

The oval is better than the wheel, it's newer. Newism.

A short post on a messege board usually consisting of one word or one smilie (such as "lol", "heh", ":)"). It comes from a member of Bridge Commander Universe called Nebula who used to post nebisms all the time

newbish

Having quality that makes something appear to be made by, thought of, etc. by a newb (look up newb or newbie). This word is used when someone asks a question with a seemingly obvious answer. Also when someone produces poor quality work, esp. in mapping or similar computer game activities.

Also spelled as "noobish"

"I have a newbish question..."
"That looks quite newbish..."

The -.- response is a typical response to a post that is veiwed as confusing or irrelevant, since Nebula is incredibley dense and stupid this is an extremly regular occurance
