A person who drives in the middle lane because they are afraid of the people merging in the slow lane and are afraid of driving in the fast lane. Probably shouldn’t even be on the interstate to begin with.

That middlelaner is afraid of everything on the road.

Middlecare 

Middlecare - when you start to worry that the amount of aftercare needed for what you are doing is going to become unrealistic or unattainable so you stop in the process of the action to randomly and uncharacteristically provide your partner with a completely unexpected compliment, gift or reassurance.

"I was tearing into her so bad that I took a break to hand her a flower and remind her that she looks great with no makeup on... After providing the middlecare I assumed that she needed, I proceeded to step on the back of her head, pushing her face back into the wet bowl of dog food while degrading her for not being able to eat with her muzzle on"
