Microtransaction

A method used by game developers, especially in hyper casual mobile games, where a game will be free to download, however users gain an unfair advantage by paying for in-game currency which normally is relatively hard to get. Sometimes games implement an in-game currency that's only obtainable by paying, whose only use is to be converted to a different currency which can then be used to buy items in the game. This is a very common trick where developers abstract money into in-game currencies so players are distanced from the consequences of buying it.

These tricks are most commonly used in games by companies instead of indie games since they rely on making money and for the most part don't care about the quality of their games.

While this trick being very known and frowned upon by the gaming community, developers still manage to trick enough people into paying in their games to keep their business going.

Microtransaction

The cancer of modern gaming
Did you hear? To access the later levels, you have to do a microtransaction!

Microtransaction

A pay-to-win or pay-to-play method that game companies use to make the consumer's wallets burn.
Jake was so irritated with the microtransactions in the game that he was playing so he decided to install an apk that would give him free coins and free diamonds.

Macrotransaction

Mircrotransactions that are actually very large. Usually found in EA Sports games, these include packs bundles the cost $100 or more, and are never even remotely worth it.
This new $100 bundle in Madden that give me a 5% chance at a good player is a horrible macrotransaction.

Macrotransaction

Too expensive microtransaction that it isn't considered microtransaction anymore.
Wait, did Riot Games actually make a $300 skin in Valorant? Bruh, that's a macrotransaction!

Microtransaction

A form of payment to an online service or game, often dealing in small amounts to make you spend more over a period of time.

Often used by "Free" mobile games that become impossible to play unless you spend money .
The game had the potential to be great, but the developers couldn't resist putting microtransaction in that made it impossible to play without paying money.

"Wow, what a Bunhead."

"Hey Sally, you want to hang out this weekend?"
"I can't, I have dance."
"You're such a Bunhead."

trucker's tan

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
I had a trucker's tan after driving for 10 straight hours on a sunny day.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.

Pee Calculus

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
I saw Satantango last night, wonderful film but by the 5th hour I had to start doing pee calculus.
