This is a term used between two or more people (though usually among gay men) to point out a nearby person who is physically appealing to the eye so as not to attract attention to the subject they are looking at.
John: I really like the new schedule they gave me at work.
Jason: Yeah, I am pretty impressed with mine as well. "Meanwhile" (as Jason uses his head and eyes to motion John's attention in another direction).
John: Oh wow! Yeah, definitely. You think he's related? (note that "related" is another gay term used. Check Urban for its definition.
Used to verbally bitch-slap a person who's complaining about something very small. So small that it is just ridiculous in comparison with some people's problems in the poor Africa.
Eva: "No mayonaise? Argh, could this day be any worse?"
Michael: "Meanwhile in Africa..."
Rik: "Argh, nothing is on TV tonight! Im pissed off!!"
Susan: "Meanwhile in Africa..."
Something you say when someone around you says something that has nothing to do with what your current conversation is about and you want to get back to the other topic.
A: I think it should be brown.
B: Maybe red.
A: Brown matches the rest of the room though.
C: I like bananas.
A: *odd look* ...meanwhile, back at the ranch
Texas is categorized as a swing state in presidential elections, but has voted for Republicans more times than for Democrats in recent history. As such, as demographics change political alignments, some Democrats believe that Texaswill vote blue, or Democratic, due to their Hispanic and African American voters, who often align themselves with the Democratic Party's liberal wing.
Blexas has been cited as possible in the upcoming decades, but only if Democrats continue to win the Hispanic vote in bigger margins.
Democrat 1: What is your prediction for the 2024 presidential election?
Democrat 2: Well uh, Blexas!
Democrat 1: You've been saying that since 2008 though.
