A large piece of hound rope usually found down a thin back alley, ginnel or snicket, where one has to manoeuvre over it like its an obstacle.

Bloody hell Jeeves, walking down the back alley to yours I was confronted by a rather large logstacle which was a bugger to leap over. It almost tripped me up
