A tactic for manipulation. Both to make someone feel bad about something, and just be an attention whore on Social Media.

Guilt tripping is when you reject a girl for not wanting to go out with her and she makes you feel guilty about it.

Guy: I'm sorry but I just don't feel the same about you
Girl: Fine, I guess I'll just go home and cry myself to sleep.
Guy: Oh no, don't you even dare think about guilt tripping me.
Girl: 😭

Guy 1: "Guys I miss Izzie"
Guy 2: "What happened to Izzie?"
Guy 1: "Nothing i just miss her because she always has plans with her boyfriend"
That's guilt tripping (I didn't know how to include the word)

Historical guilt-tripping 

A form of guilt-tripping using history. This method is usually used by people who admire the "good ol' past".

Dad: "Romulus Augustulus was a Roman emperor when he was 12. You are the same age as him but you do nothing but play Xbox all day."
Son: "Alexander the Great was 32 years old when he died and he conquered so many lands. You are older than him yet you do nothing but waste your money on some trash."

This is an example of historical guilt-tripping.

Guilt Tipping

When the waitress hands you the bill and the tip starts at 18% and ends at 25%. You feel guilty and leave a 25% tip even though the service and food was not too good

Tom - Hey Matt, looks like they're asking for a $25 tip for out crappy $100 lunch
Matt - Hey, they're just guilt tipping you. Leave $10 - They're lucky to get it
