The controversy surrounding the arrest of Henry Louis Gates, Harvard University scholar and educator, and the subsequent allegations of racial profiling and racism against the Cambridge (MA) Police Department.

The health care lobbyist is annoyed that Gatesgate has overshadowed the news coverage of the debate to which she has invested so much time.

The paranoid, extreme right-wing conspiracy theory that Bill Gates planned to use a COVID-19 pandemic to take control of the global health system.

He was convinced that this amounted to Bill Gatesgate, yup, Billionaire Gates had spent years conspiring with Obama, and Hillary! to make money off the whole damn thing, which wasn't real anyway.

Gamergate 

A word used to describe the events following on from an otherwise minor scandal, where rumors that a games journalist had a relationship with a developer that he hadn't disclosed during his coverage were met with a series of articles from across the specialized gaming press, in an apparent attempt to demonize their own readership, coordinated behind the scenes on a secret mailing list.

Gamergate represented a massive failure of journalistic ethics and was responsible for a number of people losing trust in games related media and even the wider news industry.

Gates gate

Refers to the legal case in which Henry Louis Gates Jr, a Harvard Professor who teaches, among other topics, identity politics issues such as racial profiling accuses sergeant James Crowley of the Cambridge police force, who himself teaches other Cambridge police officers about racial profiling and how to avoid it, of racial profiling when sergeant Crowley arrested Professor Gates for disorderly conduct on July 16th 2009.
