The word represents a waving motion performed with one's foot, reminiscent of the "Winke" emote which originates from livestreamer h3llomark's channel. One uses the emote "Footke" to announce a provocative although friendly "hello".
Footke has been the subject of controversy as some notable Trackmania players have suggested that performing Footke is too sexually provocative for Twitch audiences, however others have retorted that "Associating feet with anything sexual is a huge self report tbh".
